Important Update: JKBOSE Notifies Changes in Class 11th Annual Regular 2024 Practical Examinations
In a recent development aimed at enhancing the examination process and ensuring the academic integrity of students, the Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has announced a significant change in the conduct of practical examinations for Class 11th students.
The latest notification issued by JKBOSE outlines that the practical examinations for Class 11th students, as part of the Annual (Regular) Examination session 2024, will now be conducted by the respective schools/institutions themselves.
This decision marks a departure from the previous practice where the board centrally organized and administered these examinations.
According to the notification, the practical examinations, encompassing both Internal and External assessments, will be organized and overseen by the schools/institutions where the students are enrolled.
This decentralization of the examination process is expected to streamline the logistics and administration involved in conducting practical assessments.
One notable aspect highlighted in the notification is the differentiation in the timing of practical examinations based on the geographical zones within the region. For schools situated in the Soft Zone areas of Kashmir Division, the practical examinations will be scheduled to take place after the theory examinations.
In contrast, for schools located in the Hard Zone areas of Kashmir Division and the Union Territory of Ladakh, the practical examinations will precede the theory examinations.
Furthermore, the notification emphasizes the importance of adhering to the new/revised syllabi and course of study, as communicated in a previous notification dated May 27, 2023. This underscores the commitment of JKBOSE to maintaining academic standards and ensuring alignment with the prescribed curriculum.
In line with the administrative protocols, the heads of the institutions are entrusted with the responsibility of submitting the practical awards, including External/Internal assessments and Project Work, to the designated authorities within ten days after the conclusion of the Practical Examination.
This timely submission is crucial for the compilation and processing of examination results.
To facilitate effective communication and dissemination of information, copies of the notification have been circulated to various officials and departments, including Administrative Secretaries, Directors of School Education, Joint Secretaries, Financial Advisors, Chief Education Officers, and Deputy/Assistant Secretaries of the Board, among others.
This strategic decision by JKBOSE reflects a proactive approach towards enhancing the examination process and ensuring the holistic evaluation of students’ academic proficiency.
Stakeholders and concerned parties are encouraged to refer to the official notification issued by JKBOSE for detailed guidelines and instructions regarding the conduct of Class 11th practical examinations.
